The requirements for car donation will generally depend on the specific charity you choose to donate your car to. Generally speaking the requirements for car donation are usually simply:

• Your vehicle must be whole (no missing engines, trunks, etc.).

• The vehicle need not run but you will be asked to explain the condition of the vehicle.

• Your vehicle must have a clear title in your name, if required by your home state. Visit the charities page, choose one, and click donate to start a title check and see if your state requires a title.
  

When you contact a car donation charity they will ask you to provide the following information:

• The year, make and model of your vehicle
• The general condition of your vehicle and approximate mileage
• The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This is a 17 digit number usually found on your registration, title and/or insurance policy. It usually can also be located at the base of the windshield on the left-hand side.
